Llobet, Miguel (1878-1938 Spain)
Miguel Llobet was born in Spain in 1878. His first steps in music training was with the violin and the piano. In about 1889 he started learning the guitar, inspired by a recital of Antonio Jimenez Manjon in Barcelona. Student of Tarrega, he started to give private recitals in 1898. His first public concert took place in 1901 at the Conservatory of Valencia. His first concert outside Spain was in Paris in 1904. Llobet travelled to many places of Europe, performing recitals.
He was a great performer and composer. His most famous student was Andres Segovia.
Llobet died of pleurisy in Barcelona, in 1938.
