Carulli, Ferdinando (1770-1841 Italy-France)
Ferdinando Maria Meinrado Francesco Pascale Rosario Carulli was one of the most famous composers of classical guitar and the first one who wrote a complete guitar method, which is still used today. Born in Naples in 1770, his first instrument was the cello. Years later, when he reached the twentieth year of his life, Carulli started learning the guitar and after then, he devoted his life on guitar's study and advancement.
He was a very good performer and soon he started touring on Europe. Around 1801 Carulli married a French woman, Marie-Josephine Boyer, and had a son with her. Some years later he moved to Paris, where he published most of his works. He died there, in 1841.
