Calmes, Keith (1966 - California)
Guitarist Keith Calmes grew up in Central and Southern California.
He earned degrees in Classical Guitar Performance from The Juilliard School, California State University Northridge, and the University of Southern California.
Dr. Calmes currently teaches beginning guitar, guitar ensemble, music theory, and rock history at Wall High School and Ocean County College in New Jersey. Keith has numerous books and recordings with Mel Bay Publications, including Guitar Music of the 16th Century and The Eight Masterpieces of Alonso Mudarra.
His recording 'Still Life and Simple Dreams' with Steve Jankowski of Blood, Sweat, and Tears has received excellent reviews and is available on CD Baby and Itunes.
Keith gave his debut recital at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall as Winner of the Artists International Competition in 1992. Keith plays Godin Guitars and Reverend Guitars.
