Albeniz, Mateo ( 1755-1831 Spain)
Mateo Antonio Pérez de Albéniz was a spansh composer and priest. He had no relation to the better known composer Isaac Albeniz. He held a post as Maestro de Capilla in San Sebastián and in Logroño from 1800 to 1829.
Albeniz composed pieces for the hapsichord and the forthepiano.
The only work of his which has any relevance today is the Sonata in D major, of which a popular transcription for guitar has been made.
